Breast Cancer: Beginning the Journey
For newly diagnosed cancer patients within one month of diagnosis. Meet with physicians and health navigators in an informal setting to get the answers and support you need. Men and women are welcome. Meets the second Tuesday of each month from 6 to 7 p.m. in the Outpatient Center Classroom at Carroll Hospital Center.
Look Good, Feel Better Program

Breast Cancer Peer Consultation
The Center for Breast Health is host to a network of cancer survivors who share their experiences to support, comfort and inform. In a warm, private atmosphere, you can learn more about surgical and non-surgical treatment methods, side effects and coping strategies from those who have successfully faced similar choices and challenges.
Our on-campus boutique specializes in merchandise for women with cancer, including wigs, hats, turbans, breast prostheses and mastectomy bras. Call 410-871-6161 to make an appointment. Learn more now.
The Resource Center Library
Also on campus, our library offers a wide variety of books and CDs on hundreds of health topics, including cancer. Visitors can borrow library materials for up to 10 days with a hospital library card. Learn more now.
The Red Devils
Carroll Hospital Center has partnered with The Red Devils, a Maryland non-profit dedicated to enhancing the quality of life of breast cancer patients and their loved ones by providing help with everyday tasks. The local program is funded through a generous grant from the Maryland affiliate of the Susan G. Komen Foundation and requests are filled according to the order in which they are received. Services include:
- Massage therapy and acupuncture treatments
- Meals and groceries delivered to your home
- Transportation to and from treatments
- Prescription cancer medication co-pay assistance
- Chemotherapy and radiation co-pay assistance
- Assistance with the cost of lymphedema supplies
- Yoga classes
- Nutritional counseling through Outpatient Nutrition Services at Carroll Hospital Center
