Q: What are your job responsibilities?

I have many job responsibilities, including keeping track of information regarding office visits, hospital encounters and surgeries for assigned specialty offices in Carroll Health Group. I am also the accounts receivable (A/R) coder for the practice.

I review insurance denials for coding issues and coordinate with the A/R department to facilitate corrected claims or appeals as appropriate. I also review edits and rejections within the practice’s clearinghouse. I also work very closely with management to identify trends in denied claims to promote coder and provider education.

Q: What do you like the most about your position?

I love that my job is never the same from day to day. Each day is an opportunity to learn something new and an opportunity to help my co-workers grow as well.

Q: What do you like the most about working for Carroll Health Group?

Carroll Health Group has provided me with an invaluable amount of opportunities for continuing education and on-the-job training. Because of the size of the practice, I feel the sky is the limit in regards to career growth and advancement. For someone who is in a constant state of learning and growth, this is the most important “perk” of working for the group.

Q: What are the requirements of your position?

I am required to meet accuracy and efficiency standards set forth by management. It also requires attention to detail, use of good judgment and trust by management. I am required to maintain multiple spreadsheets to facilitate provider and coder education and tracking reports that allow management to assess my daily progress. Being a certified professional coder is also required for my position.
