FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Westminster, Md. (December 5, 2012) — The GFWC Junior Woman's Club of Westminster recently donated close to $900 to Carroll Hospice on November 16. The donation included $655 worth in gift cards and a check for $240 that will go towards purchasing food to serve during the holidays to family members visiting loved ones and friends who are patients at Dove House, Carroll Hospice's inpatient facility.
Kathy Robinson, a member of the Junior Women’s Club, presented the gift cards and check to Diane Link, R.N., executive director of Carroll Home Care and Carroll Hospice.
The donation was made in honor of Robinson’s sister, the late Karen Feroli, R.N., who was the former executive director of Carroll Home Care and Carroll Hospice, and a past president of the Junior Women’s Club of Westminster.
According to Robinson, the funds were raised during a dinner that club members held in November. She said each year the club selects a charitable cause to which to donate funds and this year Carroll Hospice was chosen because it was a place that was very close to Feroli’s heart.
Carroll Home Care and Carroll Hospice, affiliates of Carroll Hospital Center, are non-profit organizations that provide home care and hospice services to the Carroll, Frederick and Baltimore County communities. For more information, please contact Adriane Morrow at 410-871-7238.
