FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Westminster, Md. – (November 27, 2012) — Carroll Hospital Center’s Cardiac Rehabilitation Program has once again demonstrated its high quality care after being recertified by the American Association of Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Rehabilitation (AACVPR). The certification recognizes the program for its commitment to improving participants’ quality of life by enhancing standards of care.
To achieve the recertification, AACVPR inspectors rigorously reviewed all aspects of the program including the program’s equipment maintenance records, emergency procedures, treatment plans, patient support and patient outcomes. The inspectors found the program satisfied all the AACVPR’s essential requirements for standards of care.
The AACVPR Program Certification process is the only peer-reviewed accreditation process designed to review individual programs based on their adherence to the standards and guidelines developed by various professional societies.
Carroll Hospital Center’s cardiac rehabilitation program restores and improves the quality of life for patients who have suffered a heart attack or have had cardiac interventions, such as angioplasty, cardiac stents, open heart surgery or heart transplant surgery. The program includes a monitored, individualized exercise program, as well as, educational and nutritional classes.
Carroll Hospital Center is a nonprofit, acute care facility offering the latest in medical technology, experienced medical professionals in a variety of specialties and a continuum of programs and services to meet the needs of the community.
