Penelope Scott, M.D., named Carroll Hospital Center September Physician of the Month

Westminster, Md. – (September 10, 2013) — Critical care unit intensivist Penelope Scott, M.D., was named Carroll Hospital Center’s September Physician of the Month. A physician affiliated with Carroll Hospital Center for one year, Dr. Scott was recognized for her swift and skilled treatment of a critically ill patient at the hospital.
“Dr. Scott is an exceptional physician who always puts her patients first. Her expertise and compassionate care have earned her the respect of her colleagues and gratitude from her patients,” Leslie Simmons, R.N., FACHE, Carroll Hospital Center president, said.
Each month, Carroll Hospital Center recognizes the extraordinary patient care achievements of physicians, as well as physician assistants, nurse practitioners and certified nurse anesthetists, with a program called Physician WOW Service Awards. From those who are nominated to receive Physician WOW Service Awards each month, one Physician of the Month is chosen. And, from a year’s worth of Physician of the Month winners, one Physician of the Year is selected.
Community members and hospital associates are encouraged to nominate a medical professional who has demonstrated a special dedication and devotion to patients in a variety of ways.
