Martha Major named Carroll Hospital Center August Volunteer of the Month

Westminster, Md. – (August 29, 2013) — Martha Major was recently named Carroll Hospital Center’s August Volunteer of the Month. A volunteer at the hospital for more than three years, Major was chosen for her outstanding work fulfilling various assignments within the organization.
Major spends a great deal of time meeting visitors and patients while she works in a variety of departments. Her various roles include staffing the information desk and the surgical waiting room or serving as a patient representative
“Martha is a great volunteer to have on our staff. She efficiently greets and directs visitors, answers their questions and assists each person with a quiet smile and a genuine desire to comfort. She is always willing to help where she is needed, fills in for other volunteers and oftentimes provides her availability to do so ahead of time,” Mary Richards, director of volunteer services at Carroll Hospital Center, said.
Each month, Carroll Hospital Center recognizes the extraordinary achievements of its volunteers. They are chosen based on length of service, hours of service or exemplary performance.
