FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Westminster, Md. – (May 6, 2013) — Imelda Udo, M.D., OB/GYN, was selected as Carroll Hospital Center’s May Physician of the Month. A physician affiliated with Carroll Hospital Center for eight years, Dr. Udo was nominated by a patient’s mother for her compassionate care and willingness to go over and above her duties to assist the patient with her medical and emotional needs.
“Dr. Udo understands the importance of providing compassionate care,” Leslie Simmons, R.N., FACHE, executive vice president and chief operating officer, said. “She genuinely cares for all her patients and will go to great lengths to ensure they receive the highest standard of care to meet all their needs.”
Each month, Carroll Hospital Center recognizes the extraordinary patient care achievements of physicians, as well as physician assistants, nurse practitioners and certified nurse anesthetists, with a program called Physician WOW Service Awards. From those who are nominated to receive Physician WOW Service Awards each month, one Physician of the Month is chosen. And, from a year’s worth of Physician of the Month winners, one Physician of the Year is selected.
Community members and hospital associates are encouraged to nominate a medical professional who has demonstrated a special dedication and devotion to patients in a variety of ways. For more information on how to nominate a Carroll Hospital Center medical professional, contact the Medical Affairs Office at 410-871-6899.
