Do you find yourself making the same dishes over and over again? Are you looking for ways to branch out and find new recipes?
Every week, we are posting a new recipe to our Facebook page and on our website— some are new twists on old favorites, while others might be new to you!
In addition to each recipe, Melanie Berdyck, a registered and licensed dietitian and our community nutrition educator, will provide a nutrition tip about an ingredient found in each recipe.
So don’t forget to visit our recipe page each Wednesday to see what delicious recipes we have for you!
Today’s Dietary Guidelines for Americans emphasize making half of your plate fruits and vegetables. If you are looking for fresh produce to incorporate into your recipes, our weekly Farmers Market is now open each Thursday through September 25. Stop by between 12:30 and 4:30 p.m. at the market, located on the third level of our parking garage, to see all of the fruit, vegetables and goodies waiting for you!
If you are trying to eat veggies on a budget, or looking for ways to incorporate more vegetables into your diet, the Choosemyplate.gov website has a wealth of information to help you. And, don't forget, the hospital’s nutrition counseling services can provide you with food and nutrition information to help you make overall healthy dietary choices.
