Mr. Sernulka received his Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration in 1973 from Youngstown State University and his Master of Business Administration and Master of Healthcare Administration from George Washington University in 1981.
He began his health care management career in 1976 as the Assistant Controller for Finance at Baltimore Washington Medical Center in Glen Burnie, Maryland. Later he became the Assistant Director of Operations at Baltimore Washington Medical Center.
Mr. Sernulka joined the Carroll Hospital Center team in 1989. During his years at the hospital, the organization has experienced significant growth in facilities, programs and services, market share and community support.
Mr. Sernulka is a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives. He currently serves on the Board of Health Policy Leadership Alliance of the Maryland Hospital Association and on the Board of The Partnership Community Health Organization. He is also on the Board of Directors of Maryland Hospital Association’s PRIME, a member of Senator Benjamin Cardin’s Health Care Advisory Committee, and serves on the Carroll County Scouting Advisory Committee.
